Higher Life Forms CD
 This
3 in one wastewater training CD (Thumb drive if requested) has over 150 high resolution videos of the microorganisms observed
under the microscope. It is one thing to read about it in a book, another to
see examples and videos of actual organisms using different magnifications.
40x, 100x, 400x and 1000x illuminations are used. Bright Field, dark, phase
contrast, and inverted field give you a look at these organisms from all sizes
and lighting. The videos have everything from amoebae, to worms, spirillum,
algae, etc. Program instructions included to view videos if your computer does not have
existing program capable of viewing .avi files.

Filamentous BACTERIA Identification CD
Basic wastewater training on how to perform Filamentous identification. The CD
(Thumb drive if requested) contains
basic staining, how to use the microscope, individual
sheets on each filament. It includes an excel based worksheet to use in the lab and guide on
different organisms. Over 1500 color photos of each type of filament, Gram,
Neisser, wet mount, phase, Dark field, Lactophenol Cotton blue, etc. Various
examples of conditions found in plants, types of floc, weak, diffuse, open,
lacy, firm, compact, etc. Chlorination, causes and controls.
This CD has hundreds of photos of floc structures, filaments and foaming
observed under the microscope. Plant pictures with these conditions are also
included. It is one thing to read about it in a book, another to see
examples and videos of actual filaments at different magnifications. 100x,
400x and 1000x illuminations are used. Bright Field, dark, phase contrast,
and inverted images give you a look at these organisms from all sizes and
lighting. Gram, Neisser and India stains as well as some Lactophenol Cotton
Blues stains may be used on some photos. Tip sheet on how to take the best

We offer courses throughout the year. Typically we hold one or two day
classes. We have operator classes, lab classes and our Advanced Filamentous
Identification the Easy class, an intense two day hand on lab class.
These Biological Wastewater Training Classes will present the process
control methodologies and laboratory techniques necessary
to control the activated sludge process with an emphasis on process
monitoring and troubleshooting your wastewater treatment system.
These approaches are equally applicable to domestic and industrial
facilities. Past participants from industries such as
refining, petrochemical and papermills have been successful in applying
these methods to control their processes.
The waste water training course will consist of lecture, plant audit,
microscopic biomass analysis and demonstration of certain laboratory
procedures.
